What you can find when you dig a little deeper.

Some installs look okay from the first glance. Neat, functioning...but when you strip out the old to make way for the new you suddenly see the quality of the workmanship.

One leg of a ring final circuit, the Neutral instantly snapped off and the insulation on the Live is nicked.

The CPC (earth) on the lighting circuit snapped off when disconnected.

These issues are easily resolved...

but unless your installation is properly tested or inspected during an upgrade they can go unnoticed and result in no earth continuity to switches and accessories leaving you vulnerable to electric shock, or high resistance on damaged conductors which causes a build up of heat and in the worst of cases, fire.

Thankfully my customer was having a new consumer unit fitted and I was able to identify and rectify these problems leaving them with a safe and sound electrical system.
